About

I am an Associate Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, where I lead the Quantum Materials and Devices Laboratory (QMD Lab). My work focuses on the intersection of advanced nanotechnology and material science, specifically exploring the potential of low-dimensional materials to revolutionize modern electronics and sensing technologies.
Professional Journey & Global Outlook
My academic foundation was built at Jamia Millia Islamia, where I earned both my Master in Electronics (2009) and my Ph.D. (2014). My research perspective has been shaped by diverse international collaborations, including tenures as:
Senior Scientist at Samara State Aerospace University (Russia)
Researcher at National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan)
Investigator at IMDEA Nanoscience (Spain)
Research Focus & Innovation
I specialize in the synthesis and application of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) and 2D materials (such as Graphene, MoS2, and TiS3). My research aims to push the boundaries of:
Gas Sensors and environmental monitoring.
Optoelectronic Devices and high-performance transistors.
Photonic Integrated Circuitry, highlighted by my recent collaboration in Nano Letters with Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Kostya Novoselov.
To date, my work has resulted in over 80 research papers in esteemed journals like Sensors and Actuators, Nanomaterials, and ACS Omega. I am also a strong advocate for translating lab research into real-world utility, holding two US patents and four Indian patents.
Leadership & Mentorship
I am currently leading several high-impact R&D projects funded by major national bodies, including:
SERB: Investigating TiS3 nanoribbons.
UGC: Developing CNT-based transistors.
DST: Designing advanced environmental sensors.
Beyond research, I am deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists. I have successfully supervised four Ph.D. scholars and guided more than 29 postgraduate projects, fostering an environment of curiosity and rigorous scientific inquiry at the QMD Lab.
